Green is the catch all phrase used for adopting business and lifestyle changes to reduce negative impacts on the environment. At Burr Pest Control, we have always been concerned about protecting your home, health, family and environment. There are many types of green services, from using solely organic pesticides to working with us to prevent pest problems before they occur. Pesticides are never our first choice when looking for a way to control a pest. If we decide that we need to apply a pesticide, we choose a product and application method that will control the pest effectively and minimize the risk to people, pets, and the environment. This includes, but is not limited to, organic pesticides.

The term “environment” when used in green pest management service means not only the outdoor environment around buildings, but the human environment inside buildings, as well. The human environment includes human and animal health. The most important factor in reducing environmental impacts indoors is reducing the occupants’ exposure to pesticides.

Green service is an interactive process between pest management professionals and you. It’s your environment, so you set the standard or pest threshold. The need to eliminate all insects, even beneficial ones, is a matter of personal preference. Our team will evaluate the cause of your particular pest problem and come up with a plan to address the situation in a way to lessen the environmental impact on all non-target species. Whether we use solely organic pesticides or not, all our services are green friendly. We use what’s called an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system at every location. IPM requires a thorough inspection, monitoring activity, working with our customers on prevention, and using pesticides as a last resort. By working together, we can create a very low impact, high results situation that is good for our environment and yours.
